  1. Get 100 ml water
  2. Get 25 g brown sugar
  3. Take 1 tsp orange extract or 1 tbsp liquor

  6. Get Cocoa powder, chocolate strands or edible bronze rocks (Waitrose) for the coating

To flavor truffles with liqueurs or other flavorings, omit vanilla. Truffles are sometimes used to flavor olive oil. The very rare Italian white or Piedmont truffle, Tuber magnatum, has the strongest smell of all truffles. At its freshest, it has a smooth, dirty beige surface that ages to a brown.

Instructions to make Truffles:
  1. Finely chop chocolate on a chopping board. Place chocolate in a bowl and set aside
  2. Place the water, sugar and salt into a pan. Bring to the boil for 30 seconds
  3. Leave for a couple of minutes, to let the warmth start to melt the chocolate. Stir the mixture, starting from the inside and working your way outwards
  4. Cool and then place in the fridge until it is firm but not too hard
  5. If you chill the mixture overnight pull it out of the fridge half an hour before rolling
  6. Dip your hands in cocoa to stop the mixture sticking to your hands. Take spoonfuls of the mixture and roll into lots of little balls
  7. Then re-roll the balls in the palms of your hands to make them sticky, then dip them in your chosen coating
  8. Present in a box or bag and give with love!

The very rare Italian white or Piedmont truffle, Tuber magnatum, has the strongest smell of all truffles. At its freshest, it has a smooth, dirty beige surface that ages to a brown. You may be tempted to save these chocolate truffles for a special occasion since these smooth, creamy chocolates are divine. Then place the truffle into the dish with either the cocoa powder, nuts or coconut. Move the truffle around to coat; leave.
